MODEX 2024 has come and gone, but the Prime Robotics team is still buzzing with excitement and inspiration from our week in Atlanta.
Over 45,000 attendees and 1,175 exhibitors showed up at the Georgia World Congress Center, making it the biggest MODEX yet.
Whether you were there or couldn’t attend and wonder what you missed, here are our top takeaways from MODEX 2024.
1. Robots dominated the exhibit halls.
One thing was evident when walking the exhibit halls—robotics and automation have become a staple in the supply chain. From humanoid and floor-cleaning robots to autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), automation solutions were everywhere.
If you want to explore automation for your warehouse but don’t know where to start, our whitepaper “Warehouse Automation 101: The Basics” can help. Download the guide to learn about the hardware, software, and processes involved in warehouse automation systems.
2. Choosing the right technology partner is crucial.
One thing we learned from speaking with MODEX attendees is the importance of picking the right warehouse automation partner. Many robotics providers sell impressive point solutions but do not offer comprehensive solutions or the services and support needed to make the implementation successful.
Prime Robotics not only provides the hardware and software but also a true partnership for integration. We deliver a wide suite of robots and flexible software that integrates with your existing processes. We work with you to build the right solution for your business and conduct on-site training for employees. Our US-based team of engineers and technicians is available 24/7 to solve issues and ensure smooth operations. These factors set Prime apart as the ideal automation partner to meet the unique needs of warehouse owners and operators.
3. Warehouse automation is advancing daily.
Many new automation technologies were unveiled at MODEX, from sorting robots to wireless charging systems for industrial e-vehicles.
At the show, Prime announced the launch of the Advanced Pallet Station (APS) for warehouse picking operations. APS accelerates picking from single-SKU pallets to build multi-SKU pallets and increases picking speeds up to 5X. Users interact with the system via voice commands or a touchscreen interface to allow seamless and user-friendly operations. APS is equipped with projector or LED indicators to enhance picking accuracy. APS enables warehouses to achieve unmatched productivity.
4. Software is the name of the game.
A hot topic of conversation at MODEX (amongst speakers and attendees) was the software behind the physical technologies on display.
Prime’s COO, Joe Hunt, led a compelling on-floor seminar, It’s All About the Software. Joe discussed how deploying warehouse automation can be complex and challenging, but with the right software, robotics seamlessly integrate into existing systems and workflows. When done correctly, software and hardware combine to maximize efficiency.
